No pics, hardly ever take any tbh. Should’ve made this a NY resolution

Had a pedal/hike up Caddir Idris yesterday morning then a loop round the MBR at CYB in the afternoon. We’d normally do The Beast but time was a little short

I wondered how long my brake pads were going to last this morning up Rivvy, all I could hear was grinding from the moment I set off 🙄

I thought it was a bit wetter than normal 😉

On Saturday I was at the PMBA Night & Day Enduro at Grizedale. It was misty all day and the trails were wet and muddy but it was a really fun day out.

Honister and Warnscale on Saturday. Warnscale was slippery as hell. Incorrect set up of the new bike had a pedal strike catapult me over the bars on the track at the bottom. Try coming back over Honister with one functioning hand.

Strange weather too, low level mist and an weird light in Borrowdale but thick wet mist over in Buttermere.

Just a short lap of Cwmcarn yesterday, been busy with life crap the rest of the weekend 🙁

FOD tomorrow and haven’t decided what for Tuesday yet, hoping it stays warm so I can possibly do the Gap 😀

Trapped a nerve in my back so no riding for me, so managed to get a few jobs done like finally fitting the new rear tyre to my Arkose. Took the missus round a few shops and she fancies a Carrera Subway which is decent news.

I then felt better tonight so thought the gym was a good idea. Wrong, deadlifts felt fine at the time but now I’m in more pain than yesterday. Oops.

Metalheart and I headed up Glen Banvie near Blair Atholl to start bivvy-a-month for 2017. Short ride, decent night, and I got to stop over in a wee block of woods I’ve had my eye on for a few years.

Some good pics up there ^^

I had a 30 mile quiet lane ride on the hybrid. I’ve not gone that far in one go for ages as work has been busy, been helping mate out at weekend and then Xmas.

Confirmed how heavy the hybrid is when I was putting it away and had to move the mountain bike out the way. After lifting the hybrid, I nearly put the mountain bike through the shed roof lifting it with the same force. Oh well it’s good training on the hybrid.

No pic but did a local loop this evening and couldn’t believe how wet its become in the two weeks since I last did it. Now covered in heavy deep craggy puddles and the “fast bits” now covered in that thin but lethal mud that sends you sideways unless you are going in a dead straight line.

Oh and the fog on the road joining section was so bad I couldn’t see more than a couple metres.

    Great pics above BTW

It was a mucky, muddy climb up to Darwen’s Jubilee Tower, but luckily the website told me I’d “… be stunned and amazed at the panoramic views as far as the Yorkshire Dales in the East, and the Isle of Man in the West…”

Birthday bike ride weekend. Had some old mates come up, drink beers, eat curry and muck about in the woods. No route, no plan, just having fun. Great to get one friend riding some steep stuff that he’d been walking down when we set out.

Prior commitments meant we had to give the PMBA Day and Night Enduro at Grizedale a miss. We did managed a blast in the Peak, not many riders about but loads of friendly walkers.
Gave us some time to se up Abigales 29er. Having to run the Lyriks at the minimum pressure to get full travel

Headed to the Peak for the first time this year for a quickish solo ride but bumped in to a friend so had company for most of it.

It was pretty dank and foggy but really atmospheric which was cool. Also snapped my gear cable at the bottom of the last climb so it was mostly a push!

    Relive of the ride.

cuyahoga, great pic of the swirls of mist round the lights! I like that a lot. Think I might be getting cold on a ride near me some time soon trying to get something similar!

bikebuoy, nice looking waves. Definitely need to get in the water more this year!

I went for a quick radge round the Punchbowl early Sunday with a couple of others.

Then took the just-finished new/old Raleigh Randonneur for a quick randonnée up the hill and back. Very nice. Smoooth!

No pics but spent saturday up a very muddy and slick Bringewood on the 120mm 29er, chasing a bunch of peopke on ‘enduro’ bikes and yesterday with the better half at cwm carn. Her confidence is low after a broken scaphoid so it was good to go somewhere that was not too slick. It was only her 3rd ride back.

    So overall a good weekend.

I can confirm that the Chilterns are muddy.

But it was good to get out and do some riding/sliding.
I can also confirm that grippy tyres are good for training.

Had a breakthrough day with my two young boys, riding the red trail at Glenlivet. They absolutely loved it (as did I)!
