singlespeeding yesterday, solo (wife has a bad back 🙁 ) road ride this morning out to the big tree and back. Beautiful weather with unusual wind direction so it was a quick ride home !
couple of pints of woodforde wherry 2 miles from home 🙂
What a belter of a day weatherwise. I can’t compete with some of the spectacular pics on here but here’s mine from the chase this morning, I didn’t stop on the singletrack to take any pics. Great conditions, not too dusty and the sun was out. I was guided round some Offpiste on some great trails. Some just out of my skill set and comfort, but that’s tremendous as I like to be challenged & progress.
Second ride of the weekend was another local jaunt. Taking it easy so as not to mess up me or the bike before next weekend away at BPW and Cwmcarn. Managed to snap a spoke on the last fireroad descent back into the village, don’t have any spares…

Awesome weather and weekend, Costa Del Comrie Croft on Saturday with biggest_oab, mini_oab and mrs_oab, while middle_OAB was on Dofe. Warm, dry, dusty, rocky Comrie. 8)

Today spent worrying about eldest_OAB flinging himself down Ae Downhill trails, by marshalling the race. Amazingly slippy conditions due to a marble like covering of dust. Glad that eldest_OAB, who has Nat5 Exams this week, got down safely apart from a spectacular dismount at the finish jump – he ended up running over the line apparently with the bike, totally out of control….

The week also contained one more off the bucket list for me – Puffins! Puffins at the Bullers of Buchan by Matt Robinson, on Flickr
Antur on Saturday; my first ride on a FS for months and I chose there. Ace fun on the blues and reds all morning then managed to mash chain, mech and hanger on the first run after lunch. Did 3 or 4 runs chainless but wasn’t feeling it so called it a day.
Was at a campsite 40th birthday thing nearby that night and planned to ride xc somewhere nearby today, but no chain put paid to that.
Did the Fat Lad At the Back sportive out of Ilkley today. Stunning scenery in lovely sunshine, the most laid back and relaxed sportive I’ve done, and the most fantastic feed stop designed to ensure that their client base continues to expand, in all ways….
BoardinBob, great day for it wasn’t it. my first time never done anything that mad before.
crashed not long after dropping into the bottom downhill section of the mass start stage but still managed 15th in catagary.
want to do it again but would be surprised if the weather is ever that good again for it.

Spent most of the sunny Saturday getting the new bike ready for its shake-down ride, so ended up having to ride under the clouds. Still good fun though. How could a new bike day be anything else. And nothing fell off, not even the rider 🙂
