I’ll start then. Classic black mountains loop with an additional 4.5km/450m push/hike to get onto the start of the ridge above Mynddu forest. We had wind, rain, more rain, occasional damp sunshine and rain. So all in all a brilliant day out 🙂
Had the best day @ BPW on Friday. Lovely weather, not too hot, tracks running well and super efficient uplift. Managed to get some jumping practice in:
@stevied – off there on thurs. Forecast not looking quite so good!
I was reading the other thread about being jealous of others riding locations. We have FoD and Malverns about on the doorstep and black mountains an hour away, about the same for cwmcarn and BPW. 30 mins more to Afan and Quantocks is easily a day trip.
Took the boy to Dalbeattie. Did the blue route on Saturday with a bit of whinging but come Sunday morning he wanted to do it all over again but we did the taster loop so we could go the Hadrian’s Wall on the way back.

Exploring locally this weekend as p20 showed me round some the trails he had ridden on week days. Bit of a variation of Benji’s Shipley loop. Really enjoyed it – good to get to know more riding from our new home.

Nice 72km trundle round Windermere (mates strava photo) had some very nice and extremely reasonable tapas and coffee at the YHA in Ambleside on the way round.
what’s that Coledale descent like? Never been down that way.
Starts out like surfing on rubble as you descend to the mine, then shorter steeper technical bits over a couple of smaller hills, then a fast fun blast down to Braithwaite.
Fab Scottish weekend for me, Sat morning 11 miles round Yair going solo with not a soul in sight and stole a QOM off my friend while she was working. Saturday afternoon my first ride up the Golfie, Lone Wolf, Flat White and Repeat Offender from top to bottom, another 11 miles.
Then Sunday my second jaunt up Thornielee but this time a bit dryer than the snow bomb of last time when they’d just had an inch or so of snow only 9.5 miles this time.
Glad I got the big bike built back up in time and didn’t have to delay because the weather was impeccable.
Went round Caron valley for the first time on Saturday but I won’t bore you with the video. Went out for a quick play in my local woods tonight after my chillie burgers. Needing to go somewhere new though.
