    Iv got to take 15 days unpaid leave to take next , Im thinking about a 7 day long ride ideally with minimal roads.

    So far I have two lines of investigation ,

    1) the trans wales route , is it ridable all the time ?

    2) I remember reading a while back in STW about a trans alps MTB ride.

    If anyone can refer me anywhere or has any other ideas that would be top.

    You'd manage the Trans Wales route most of the time … wouldn't fancy it today though.

    I have a 160 mile plus highland route you can have if you want – Mainly double track tho and not really the time of year for it.

    Transwales would be grim at this time of year. It was Ok in a dry week in August.
