planning on getting some waterproof shorts for the winter. I’ve been looking at a nice windstopper pair from Gore (I understand these aren’t waterproof but are pretty close), some altura attacks and perhaps some Madison tempests. Are there any others?

I’ve been told that some army goretex trousers cut down could be an option? My only worry is that the cut is all wrong, that was the issue with some endura superlites I had, just completely the wrong cut, well that and appalling quality like everything endura I’ve ever had.

Another option would be to bite the bullet and get some gore paclite alp-x’s, but these are £130 so I’d like to be sure…….

    what do we think?

I cut down a pair of the Lidl £7 waterproof trousers (cycling cut) and got a good couple of hundred miles of wear before the seams started to peel (not fail as such though). I’ve of some Alturas now and they feel more substantial, better fit, decent pockets, etc. Are they 10x better, hmm.

Altura Attack 3/4 shorts are very good, last well and fit well.
