Video editing – what do you use?
Windows movie maker
No fancy effects but they tend to look cheap anyway. Easy to use and doesn’t hog system resources. I’ve got an older dual core 64bit Athlon with 8 gig of ram and it runs perfectly smoothly when editing 1080 Go Pro footage whereas Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas just grinds the system to a haltPosted 4 years agoNorthwindSubscriber
Vegas here… Though you need to be careful, some of the variants are hopeless with gopro footage, something up with the codecs that prevents smooth preview playback. (even if you don’t use a gopro, it’s not a good sign that the cheaper versions are so kneecapped)
It’s not free, but well priced, and the demo is infinitely abusable if you’re of a mind to do that, you just need to uninstall thoroughly.Posted 4 years agomikewsmithSubscriber
Never had Premier drag my PC into death, it uses the resources that are there but you can set affinity to deal with any lack in processing power. It only struggles for me when I’m trying to do a heap of complex processor intensive work stuff while rendering.
Windows Movie maker will be like dog crap in comparison…
Try Premiere Elements for less or look at the cloud subscription.Posted 4 years ago
