    Hi all,

I’m planning to get a iPhone 4 or 4s in the near future, unlocked ideally, and use with my Giffgaff sim.

However, there is a chance I might be abroad for 6 months from January, so just want to check I’ll be OK using the phone abroad if I get a new sim card once I’m out there (wherever there is..)?

    Ta, Duane.

    If it’s unlocked, no problem.

Just to add… it isn’t always quite as easy as all that. It can be a bit tricky to get a sim in some countries (including France for some reason). Had no problem at all in Australia and Thailand.

done it a few times in india saves a fortune, you need to take your passport and have a photo taken, usually costs a few hundred rupees.then pay as you go,and see how much we pay over the odds in the uk.
