Un-used bikes you own
-
Have been ‘sorting’ out my garage and was looking over my bike collection. In there at the back is my single speed last used at D2D. It is quite well spec’d up, so do I keep & use it once/twice a year or sell ?
Whats the thoughts out there
Posted 9 years agoif its quite well specced it probably cost a fair bit of wedge, i would keep it.
Posted 9 years ago
1-2 times a year use is ok if you are happy with it id say.If you’ve the space, then keep it!
Posted 9 years agoI have a lovely old handbuilt road frame that sits on a turbo in the garage (… unlike me)
Posted 9 years agoNicolai Nucleon… probably should sell it.
Posted 9 years agoNicolai Nucleon? You mean one of these?

Posted 9 years agoI have an unused kona paddy wagon AND an unused Genesis Croix De Fer in my garage. My newly pimped out Enduro ( new forks, stem, bars, shock, crank and brakes) is also unused since the pimping took place
Posted 9 years agoThe only Nicolai I like.
Posted 9 years agoNicolai Argon FR and Endorfin VP4-R SL both get little use. Nothing wrong with them, just prefer to ride my 456.
Posted 9 years agoI’ll take both the Nicolai Argon FR and Endorfin VP4-R SL off you nick…
Posted 9 years agoKong Dawg should really sell it havent ridden it for over a year
Posted 9 years agoKona A. Absolutely loved riding it, but pinched the fork for something else. Big mistake!
Posted 9 years agoAlso, the Cannondale 1FG doesn’t get used much either 😳
Posted 9 years agoI’ve only ridden my 853 Genesis framed MTB about 4 times in the last 18 months – the last time was last July. Kinda wondering about recycling the stuff yet again, to build a Surly Troll …
Posted 9 years agoCervelo S1 – needs a new set of wheels but not really got round to it.
Posted 9 years agogot a 25lb ellsworth epiphany that rarely gets used, a custom scandal 29er that’s a spare and an old voodoo hoodoo that lives on the turbo trainer.
I had a big cull of bikes 18months ago and think it may be time to do so again.
I may just end up with 2 bikes 😯
a singlespeed and a 29er boingy
Posted 9 years agoGot a roadrat that has sat unused since I changed jobs last year and had to start commuting by car instead of bike. Probably time to move it on.
Never had a BMX as a kid so perhaps I’ll replace it with one.
Posted 9 years agoLapierre 920 DH
See how much use it gets this year, then it may be gone. 😥
Posted 9 years agonot much point owning a bike you never ride IMHO and a SS can be made by simply removing gears x2 a year you feel like it
Posted 9 years ago
Suppose it depend show much space and money you havei go through phases. Commuter is the only one that little use – at the moment. But then sometimes I use it loads for a period.
Posted 9 years agoI’ve got a Kona humu humu and a sunn bmix just sat there doing nowt
Posted 9 years agoLove that Nicolai Nucleon 😛
Posted 9 years ago
I used to have 5 bikes, but now have just the one. Don’t get the time to ride them all nowadays 🙁Felt Virtue used once in 12 months…so im stripping it down to stick the bits on a 456 for my sons birthday.
Posted 9 years agoMy brother bought me a unicycle – never actually used it (don’t tell him!)
Rachel
Posted 9 years agoI have this at the back of the garage and keep turning down offers to sell it! I never ride it, it just sits there!

What do you think?
GT LTS1000 year 1998.
A very expensive bike back then!
I have 4 and use them all 🙂
Posted 9 years agoI’ve always got rid of the bikes I never rode, It use to wind me up seeing them just sitting they’re collecting dust. Always thought it was better to let someone else enjoy them and me have some extra money through selling them.
Posted 9 years agotk46hal, I almost bought one back in ’98 but went for a Trek Y instead. Wish I’d have gone for the GT. Still love the look of the LTS 😛
