So how do they know 6% are outstanding? If there are that’s enough for another Biden win givne the heavy democrat bias in postal votes: Biden called for people to postal vote as an anti-corona measure, Trump told people to vote in person.

I believe in some states the postal votes are tracked through the postal system. I.e. they can see how many post-marked ballots remain in the system but haven’t reached their destination yet. Or, potentially, have reached their destination but haven’t been opened yet.

OMG that is so satisfying. Literally talking over the President, telling the audience why he’s talking nonsense. The Emperor new clothes are being shown for what they are. Without the veneer of respectability he is revealed as the shyster we always knew he was.

I mean, they should perhaps have done this several years ago but I understand why they didn’t.

The interesting thing will be how far the press go with this. Of course it’s in America’s interest for ‘the office of the president’ to remain respectable.

Not sure:
Either going to be as Superficial says and they know they are on their way or possibly, and i think more likely, just that they know they sent out x thousand postal ballots and so know how many are remaining.
Doesnt mean all will come back though and thats where the when to call becomes important. If you have 4k outstanding but there is a 5k lead then those 4k dont really matter. If its 2k then it does and you might just have to wait out the max time allowed. A judge did order the postal service to specifically go looking for ballots which might hopefully deal with this.

the better I got to know them the more I realised that the “devout” tag was inappropriate and would have better been replaced with “genuine”. The devout ones were all like the many many more you’ve met because devotion is by nature exclusive and thus intolerant.

From what I can tell the Republican Party as a whole had a pretty good election at state and local level. Americans still seem to like republican policies. So it’s starting to look like a particularly personal success for Biden and a personal failure for trump. I like that. That’s nice.
