  • Tyres with max recommended rim width 24mm on 25mm width rims: Will I die?

Just spotted that the WTB Resolutes 42c (650b) I’ve bought for my Mason x Hunt Adventure Sport Disc wheels are max recommended width of 24mm and the rims are 25mm…

I’ve got them on with tubes to shape the tyres but before I do the tubeless conversion is this going to particularly problematic and should I reconsider (or will I die)?

    Internal or external 😉

    But yes, you will die.

Thank you both for your on brand answers to my on brand thread title!

Good point, they are 25mm internal and 29mm external. They look a bit uneven with tubes in at the moment, but wasn’t sure if tubeless would help sort that out. 🤔

Absolutely no problem – I’ve seen folks put 70mm+ tyres on 25mm rims and survived to tell the tale. In the workshop I watched someone put 40mm tyres on 23mm rims and inflated them to 90psi and boy did they go with a bang and jizzed sealant all over the walls and ceiling!
