  • Tyres…. Should I leave them folded in their box for six months?

Just bought a couple of spare tyres in the Specialized sale after the PSA on here. I probably won’t put them on the bike for another six months so would you just leave them folded up in their boxes or is that asking for trouble when I go to put them on and try to get them to seal?

I’d leave them. They sit in stock for longer than that a lot of the time. Just chuck a tube in for a night before going tubeless so they find their shape.

How long do you think they’ve been folded up already?

Probably nothing to worry about, when you’re ready to use them simply take out of packaging and leave unrolled overnight.

I’d guess it makes no difference realistically.
    It’s not a solid bead…

They’ve probably been like that for 2 years already so, no, it won’t make any difference at all.

I bought some mud tyres as spares 2 years ago. Still in their packaging. I’m not worried.

Just keep them somewhere away from UV/sunlight at an ambient temperature

    Cheers all.
They shall stay neatly sitting in their boxes in the garage then.
