Can this be done to the new m670 SLX by any chance?

Hmmm, I’ve got XTR multi release on one bike and XT single release on the other, and I still cant decide if I like the multi release or not.

In exactly the same way, you can shift multiple gears with either lever.

hhhmmmm – makes Shimano look a little bit cynical doesn’t it!?

Surely it’s “double release” rather than “Multi”? looks like it only adds one extra shift. Hardly worth it if that’s the case.

it’s multi-release as you get 2 gears going down the block and 4 going up.

But you still only get one extra click out of the conversion

Does it actually change the upshift? I though it only affected downshifting.

The current XTR’s multirelease is terrible tbh, not sure why anyone would inflict that on their lovely XT.

How are they terrible?
I have M970s and you do have to downshift with a little care, unless you want to drop two sprockets at a time.

I thought it was cool , i have got xtr on my cube , and xt on my Scott and after doing it, feels like i have xtr on both now ha ha .it is always personal preference in the end and i thought it was good

Yup, exactly that. Vague lightweight feel and too easy to double shift, shifting isn’t something you should have to be careful with.

I remember an interview with Lopes last year or the year before where he said he ran SLX shifters with XTR mech as he didn’t like the Multi release action of the XTRs when using them in anger/racing.

Done this today, and works a treat.
