I’m considering a TT as my wrist is in a cast and I’m not expecting to be able to get out on a real bike for a few weeks yet.

These look good but a quick search on Amazon shows several cheaper mag trainers down to £50.

Would prefer if it wasn’t hugely noisy, thanks.

    Go secondhand.

Most will have been barely used and you can get something that would have been a couple of hundred quid for £75.

This looks like a good deal, claim to be one of the quietest too. No personal experience, but struck me as a good bet.

There were no secondhand ones in range when I was recently buying (broken arm here), so I got a new Minoura B60R based on good reviews.

It’s been better than expected tbh, so I would recommend if you can find on s/h or stretch budget a bit.

    Thanks Guys,

I’ve seen a few prospects on the bay but nothing that ends before Sunday and only one localish to me so that may be an option if I’m not sorted by then.

I’ve seen ad for the one Planet X are knocking out but would be nice to hear first hand experiences before splashing out.

Amazon have the B60R for £111 and £134. The £111 is out of stock…

Anyone used Sufferfest training videos or training plans?

I’m using trainer road at the moment but you need an ant heart rate monitor and speed cadence sensor with a usb ant stick plugged in your laptop. You put in what turbo trainer your using and it gives you a virtual power output. On my second week of the beginner program.

I think TTs may be worth putting a “wanted” ad up for. I have almost never used mine, but offering it speculatively for sale would feel like I’d given up on fitness.

It would be like selling the dumbells I use as doorstops in my shed. 😉

The cheap Elite ones don’t have enough resistance – I had one and it was way too easy to top it out.
I have an Elite Elastogel which is more than enough for a workout.
Avoid fan based resistance if you don’t want noise.

Go secondhand – gumtree is a good bet.

I also use trainerroad for plan based training.

    Whereabouts are you o.p?

I have a two year old elite Elastogel which cost me £180 at the time and has probably been used less than a dozen times which I’m looking to shift.

Avoid the £50 ebay ones if you’re bothered about noise. They’re ok for a gentle workout, but you need earplugs. It’s like riding a moped! 🙂
