I picked up a puncture which made 2 holes in my brand new Maxxis DHR Exo+. One in the centre of the tyre and one exactly by the edge of the rim. I can’t plug the hole by the rim edge and get it to remain sealed. The hole is about 5mm.

Does anyone have any good hacks for plugging holes near the rim edge?

Do you mean you’re unseating the tyre when trying to put the plug in? Or when the plug is in the tyre won’t seat properly?

    Two plugs didn’t work.

I’m going to try the leyzne fat ones.

@mashr – neither. But the plugs are resting on the edge of the rim.

Mushroom plugs from the inside. That’ll fix it.

Patch the tyre from the inside, the big cut to size patches from Halfords are really good for this.
Clean all the tubeless gunk off and sand the tyre inside, clean and dry it thoroughly before sticking the patch on, if the cut needs some reinforcing shove some shoe goo on it/stitch it/YouTube that.

As above, mushroom plugs from the inside will repair most stuff. get a pack from ebay. They will last you for years.
