  • Trying to track down a hymn from 70's school…

I’ve been Googling and Youtube searching but so far no luck. Those of you of a certain age who went to school in the 60s/70s may remember a hymn, the chorus of which ran…

    Everybodys’ building, everybodys’ building,
    Everybodys’ building day by day.
    Everybodys’ building everybodys’ bulidling,
Everybodys’ building in a different way.

Any ideas what it was or who wrote it?

And for those of you who’s memories have been tickled, ‘The Family Of Man’ was by the Spinners…

I googled and found this for you

This is called The Building Song…

    “All over the world, everywhere,
    Where the sun shines,
and where the white snow gleams,
    through the green green forests,
    and by the streams,
hands are busy, plans are laid,
    and slowly, slowly,
    somewhere, somebody’s house is made.
    Everybody’s building…….”
That’s the first of a few verses.

Bob has been on the old disco biscuits recently – think building is low on his lists!

Despite no religious feelings whatsoever, I do love:
    “shine, Jesus, Shine….”!!!

    Great song!

Haha, sang this in junior school assemblies in the 90s as well. Anyone sing one that started:
‘front the tiny ant (from the tiny ant)
to the elephant (to the elephant)’?
