It’s on the tip of my tongue (and yes, i’ve looked there) and I can’t for the life remember what it’s called or who wrote it.

It is the story of a smart house, AI if you will, trying to look after a family, but they’ve been dead for years and the house is really alone.

And that’s all i’ve got. There was another sci-fi style book, but all I remember of that was the cover was white and there were lines of ray guns on it. So, you know, there’s that one too.
