Bought these a couple of weeks ago (cheers Clink) & set them up on the Rooster to see how I got on with them.

I borrowed a mates bike for a race many years ago while my frame was being repaired and he had a set of the original H bars on, and I remember I quite liked them. Dunno why I didn’t get some at the time, mustve been the price 😉

I usually run Ragley Carnegies, so halfway there with wrist position, but these just blew me away with how naturally comfortable they are. I like wide bars so thought the 710’s may be on the horizon, but didn’t find these 660’s lacking. I kept my 70mm stem on and found it fine – though I think an 80 would give me a little bit more stretch.

    Like ’em.

I’ve been running them on my Rooster for a while now – apart from a few awkward sections at Nant Y Arian on last year’s Welsh Ride Thing they’ve been great – I still find it a bit of a potch to fit my Wildcat harness on it though

The design looks weird but your hand position isn’t significantly further forward that many other bars (hand position vs stem attachment point)

I liked my 660 loops but found my hands ever so slightly close together which with the sweep of the bars meant my wrists felt in an odd position, even though it was comfy. The 710s were much better (for me)

I had them on my fat bike (Singular Puffin) where they were OK but nothing special but swapped them to the Spearfish where they feel much better. (The fat bike has On-One Mary bars now which suit me better for that bike.) I’ve the wider version, they don’t look anywhere near the stated width but a quick measure shows it’s right.

I didn’t find any problem fitting a Wildcat harness to them and that’s with the loop bar bag and a couple of stem cells as well.

Mine’s the bike on the left.

I have always had abnormally stiff wrists to the extent my levers point dramatically down but as I get older I find I can’t get comfortable on normal bars. Would the shape of Jones bars give me a more comfortable hand position and ease the strain on my wrists?

Bob, nice picture of the ‘bike rack’ at Kuusilampi @ Rov150

I have Marys on my 29+ and H-bars on my fatbike both with Ergon grips – regular MTB bars feel weird these days. Never found a need for a harness with the H-bars, I use a heavy-duty Alpkit drybag and simply strap it to the bars.

FOG, I’m not getting any younger either and with a broken wrist in my history my wrists suffer these days (hence loving the comfort of the plus tyres).

I wish I’d have got some sooner.

But, Id say look for a set on here 2nd hand to try. If theyre not for you, you can always sell ’em on at what you paid for them.

I’ve just got of the SQLab 12 degree bars to try for the bad wrist position woes (test ride planned for Friday) as others but interested to see the variance of grip position on the bars you have.

To give a bit of variation I have got barends on flat bars on the29Fs and on 20mm risers on the 26Ht (much to my mates amusement). This does help but by the end of a long ride my hands are really painful especially if there has been a lot of road with little opportunity to move hands about.. things tend to be better on the road bike with hands on the hoods but changing gear is more painful.

liking the look of theSQLabs bars, will look forward to hearing about your experiences with them
