Heading to France/Italy/Switzerland on a 2 week roadtrip end of next week (we will be self isolating for 2 weeks on our return).

It looks like travel insurance won’t cover us while we are in France, OK, but should be OK in Italy and Switzerland.

We will be travelling with 2 bikes inside the car, but looks like neither travel insurance nor home contents insurance will cover them while in vehicle (also they won’t be in locked luggage area, they will be in main cabin with rear seats removed). Guess I have to be ok with that.

Looks like some contents insurance (RAC?) covers belongings while abroad which is great (and including when in vehicles, apart from bikes).

So thinking of travel insurance to cover us in Italy and Switzerland, and make sure it covers MTBing, and contents insurance (moving flat this week so need to sort anyway) that will cover our belongings while abroad, including France (apart from bikes when in car). Does that make sense?

Does anyone have recommendations for contents insurance that covers items abroad? It takes a while trawling through all the policy documents…
