Need to get our travel insurance sorted, as hopefully in September we’re going to Italy on a trip rebooked twice before.

We might opt for a annual policy, as often these don’t seem to be that much more. We will be going away a few times in the UK as well over the next year.

Is there anyway of cutting through the noise on comparison sites and ensuring you end up with decent cover?

Had an issue with the insurance for the first iteration of the Italy trip. It didn’t cover the FCO advice against travel! Something you think would be there, but didn’t know at the time to check. It seemed like a fundamental element that would be there, but it wasnt. We’d been quite focused on other details like medical cover (my wife is T1 diabetic) and baggage, delays etc. I’m sure the policy was well rated by whichever comparison site and Defacto. Hence we have a bit of apprehension looking this time….
