I’ve signed up for the Isle of Man end2end race in September, it’s going to to be my first such event.

I’d class my fitness as average, I go to a trail centre about once a month, local trails weekly and have a 10 mile round trip commute 5 times a week. I’m never riding for more than 3 or so hours though, so I think the end2end is going to be a big step up.

If anyone has any tips or advice on how to build up for the event, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m thinking of doing a 50 miler per month and some swimming/gym/running.

Also, I’m wondering what setup to use. I have a Swift which is currently SS (32-18) and rigid. In peoples experience would some bouncy forks be an advantage?

    Cheers very much.
