- Trails in Wales, avoiding the trail centres
South Wales – lots of really good stuff in the Beacons and Black Mountains which people would travel miles to were it not that they get distracted by Afan and Cwm Carn. Classics like the Gap Ride and Black Mountains Killer Route – see MTB Wales for details on these and others. Nick Cotton’s guide is also really good, though seems to be out of print at the moment.
Further afield, there is obviously the FoD – which I’m told is in a better state at the moment than I’d expect for this time of year. Also Llanwrtyd Wells, Radnor, etc. etc. You’re really in a superb place for natural trails (shame most people ignore them and go to the theme parks, but I suppose it does make them quieter for the rest of us).Posted 9 years ago
