    Slightly off topic – but if you have a Euro classic and want more separation, then dismantle and take an inch or so off the tube that the inner bike’s clamp is attached to. Make sure the bars will clear your car etc before you get the hack saw out. Worked for me.

    Doesn’t help the OP with that design.

    I think that Thule design for carrying hyrbids – bikes too close together, straps too short for big tyres etc.
