This was mainly on-road. The trailer was unhitched when I wanted to do a playful loop in the woods en-route. It did handle pretty well off road as long as it wasn't too gnarly and you remembered the width!

    456 panniered up.

This summer I rode it from Bingley, West Yorks to Banbury, Oxfordshire (200+ miles) mostly on tarmac but some off road, it coped very well, but the handling is "interesting" with all the weight at the rear. Apart from the panniers the only other changes from trail riding spec was triple chainset and Schwalbe Hurricane semi slick tyres. Oh, and I wound the U-turn on the Revelations down to 95mm travel.

How do you attach a rack to a bike with no rack mounts?

All on the White Rim Trail in 1994. We did alot of touring that year as part of a year off, but for this trip we had a third person who could operate my camera so we actually have an action shot

    that's a german train, isn't it….

i've got a few photos somewhere of my bike and BOB trailer from a few years back (prior to me having a digital camera – i'll have to find them and scan them). rode from london to munich. happy days.

mate and i cycled across the alps in summer just gone. no major changes made to the bike – just slightly more shit in the packs than usual. wrapped a tarp around the handle bars, fitted a bottle cage and bought a saddle bag.

So we have gay rugby players coming out and now train spotting mountain bikers. There can be no taboos left in sport.

it was an ace bike boblo, raced XC, DH, crossed deserts on it. if it has wheels and rolls, you can tour on it.
