- Touring advice…….The Hauge area?
In that area I’ve been to Doel (which may be closer to Antwerp than you might want to go) which is an abandoned ghost town although if you head that way you could go to Westmalle and visit the trappist monestery (and brewery).
We have driven around the fingers around Rotterdam, to Middleburg and over the causeway to Burgh Haamstede, it’s pretty uninspiring to be honest a mix of open farmland and industrial areas and it’s fairly exposed so likely to be really windy for 99% of the year! Kinderdyke is a bit further up on the edge of Rotterdam which is good for windmills. Rotterdam itself is the Dutch version of Hull.Posted 4 years agosteezysixMember
I rode the LF1 between Dunkirk and Hook of Holland a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Lots of campsites and little towns to visit – last bit of Belgium and the first “island” seem to be the nicest bits, when you get to HoH/Rotterdam area it gets a bit industrial due to all the shipping, but you can shoot past that up to Delft/Hague for some nicer areas.Posted 4 years ago
