+1. Makes the hairs stand on the back of my neck. The lass singing was all improvised, I believe.

    Great gig for me too.
If a day of reckoning comes and the mighty spaceman says “why should man be spared”, I would say ”we made music.”
Then I would play them Great Gig and I reckon we would be alright.

I prefer the Division Bell, later stuff personally but that’s probably because it was released in my teens.

Had shine on you crazy diamond playing softly the whole way through the crematorium for my dad.
Love/hate the tune.. It was one of his favourites.
I love it, but still can’t listen without crying.

Echoes is definitely one of the tops. Speaking as an old man I tend to go back to the early stuff and Astronomy Domine remains a firm favourite.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

Exactly. Was just having a listen inspired by this thread.

    My favourites…

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (especially the video version in the amphitheatre in Pompeii, iirc)

I also really like “When the Tigers Broke Free”, it’s just so haunting.

“Sorrow” is one of my favourites also, but I’d struggle to discount most of the others mentioned…
