wouldn’t most celebrities these days not be celebrities outside of the one thing the news/gossip mags/TV etc. have latched onto to hold the interest of the dull as **** british public?

When you think that someone like the german chancellor Kohl walked away from court having more or less admitted to having taken millions in bribes from top german companies, I really do think we get our knickers in a twist about the “morality” of our public figures in this country.We will end up with the bland, decent, moral, but ultimately useless politicians we deserve if we carry on allowing our media to rip apart the private lives of those who govern in our interests.
Lets be under no illusion about how the national media opperates: No amount of subversion, bribary or threats are considered to be below the belt in order to get your story.

..several million pounds of public money was spent investigating me and my wife. Is it not time that similar resources are devoted to investigating the activities of the News of the World?
