    Hi all

Been thoroughly enjoying making wee short films during rides with my GoPro, but want to give a bit of a bigger project a go. Going to use my DSLR for the off-bike shots, but I am a bit of a novice (cretin) with it, especially in video. Lots of good photographers on here it would seem, any tips to get me going?

20 year old Jura being used to lubricate the planning process.

    Cheers!

Rather than going out and shooting random bits and pieces and trying to make a silk purse, come up with a plan before you shoot anything.

Sequences…. Make the edit easier by varying your shot size. Wide to wide to wide just looks rubbish. Tight, wide pov. Midshot any combo of the above.
Let stuff enter and leave frame. Makes the edit easier again.
Think about the angles you shoot from and camera positions. With GV’s I like to always shoot with something interesting in the foreground. It gives a bit of depth.
Think about how long the shot will last for… I’m bored to death with 10 minutes of gopro chest cam continuous recording
    Good luck!!

    Thanks, all good stuff.

What are you guys editing with? I’ve done a bit with Sony Vegas which seems fairly intuitive.
