  • Time for another terminally dull bike build thread?

    I think it is.

There was a good thread on this a few days ago where someone built an On One, so I’m going to do the same, mainly for my own amusement.

Any comments/ criticisms on the build/ state of my kitchen more than welcome…

Minus one point for the kitchen socket being on but nothing plugged in.

Genuinely interested as to why this incurs a 1 pt penalty.

alpin: he was referencing someone elses On-One build thread.

Looks like an Orange crest on the box at a guess…

Student house as well – check out the fire blanket 😉
And another -2pts for the kettle being behind the bike, so making access a problem.

He’s blocked the dishwasher as well -1pt

Also, no obvious STW-standard coffee machine on the go – 10pts

@ Fortunateson09: So in the end you already started to disasemble your Sovereign… damn this is so cruel…

I hope you’ll gonna give it a second life as a singlespeed (it was your plan somehow if I’m right).

That always takes longer than you expect. Next dull stage is to clean and lube all the bits I’ve just taken off. What’s left in the work stand is what’s getting replaced, basically.

Surely it’s usually the seatpost. I even have a crappy seatpost I use so I can clamp it super tight without worrying about crushing a tube

Can’t be a student, these cleaning stuff on the window shelf. <<<<<<

Your wheels are too small so you are confined to old retro skool’idge.

Just don’t tighten the lever so much. I mean, how ham-fisted are you?

Fireblanket yes, but too tidy for students. Do you live in a Care Home?

Very. But it’s more just over caution. I have an old seatpost, why not use it. Plus I have a very boxy top tube which is a bit awkward depending where you clamp it so quite happy not to.

post it note pad on the wall for labelling food to go in the fridge – I reckon it’s shared occupancy, whatever it is.

    My Dog, this is exciting.

Very valid point about access to kettle though. How are you coping on that front?

What do you reckon one of his flat-mates came home early and he’s now getting a bollocking for having a dirty frame in the kitchen?

Ha. Loving the STW analysis. It’s a student house (posh tea and olive oil were on offer).

To be fair, you were warned of how dull this would be in the thread title.

And yes, sadly the Sov has to be retired for now – I can only afford the one bike, so I’m leaving the world of hardtails for the time being.

Sorry the new one isn’t anything more interesting. At least I’ll fit in…

Nice view. And looks like tea making has been somehow accomplished despite kettle access issues.

Excellent time of year to make that decision OP 😉
