As someone stated on the other mushroom thread, all are edible but some only once………..

The spores seem to get spread by cycle tyres. Many of my favourite trials are neatly bordered by fungi. Useful at night. Noticed the east Europeans are out collecting them with wicker baskets made like rucksack

Two of those pics look like my balls after a long ride.

Fungi is funny stuff isn’t it? Half way between animal and plant on its own evolutionary track.

I love to photograph fungi. Don’t get loads of impressive ones in Sussex usually but the recent rain has brought out a few decent ones. I was like a kid in a sweet shop when on holiday in the Highlands last September. It’s just fascinating the range of shapes and colours you get!

Bit dark this evening under the trees for the ‘toy’ camera, but too hard to resist more shots.

Saw a few while walking from Castle Combe to Ford and back, but nothing spectacular.

I would guess that the fungi in the last pics are growing on the remains of a fallen tree, because they’re growing in such a straight line.

They are amazing things. These were bursting through the forest floor all over in the late summer.
