    Is that GOLDEN? ace.

It is indeed. Not solid gold though, as it would make it a tad sluggish on the climbs I guess…

Turner website says large is for riders 5’11 to 6’1. With a name like tootallpaul you must be taller than that but it still fits you? interesting…..
Have been wondering about a full suss 29er for a while (am 6’4) but hard to know what size to go for, as you can never get test rides of this size/type of bike.

    edited for incomprehensible drivel

i bought my ventana without a test ride.
    a bit of a leap of faith with a £1500 price tag….

    6 feet 4 in my socks too…

A buddy of mine also has a sultan, so I knew the fit was good.

The are very long- I also ride an inbred 29er (19.5)and the Sultan has at least an inch on that.

If your ever round this way, drop in and have a look…

Pah. Not my wall, not my weeds.

Tyres are a tad optimistic- were fitted to the donor bike for the STW London ride and about to be replaced with my trusty nevegals…

The Sultan is one of the very few 29ers that don’t look gawky, everything seems balanced and in proportion.
    Turners are brilliant, enjoy!

    Shiny ‘n’ Nice!

(sounds like the couple of house cleaners who came round the other day – awfully nice chaps)

Seriously, that bike should carve singletrack with ease – the Rolls Royce of 29r’s

Sorry for the slight downer, but I really don’t get the fuss about turners. To me, they look quite ordinary really. Faux bar, nicely welded, nice colours, a bit different – but nothing mega exciting. But then i’ve never ridden one, so I appreciate my opinion doesn’t really carry any weight.

Still, much nicer than my bike – hope you enjoy it!

Jim, The nice colours and the good welds do it for me. 🙂 And the ride is pretty special.

And that they are one of the only full suss 29ers around…

I know it’s not very niche, but I have been tempted by the Gary Fisher HiFi Pro 29er since it’s a little cheaper at Alpine Bikes these days. Anyone ridden one of these and has a view?

    BTW, mmmm, nice Sultan

One of the only FS 29r’s around?

Niner, Lenz, Astrix, Titus, Ventana, Gary Fisher, Ellsworth, Intense, Salsa, VooDoo, Van Diesel, Specialized, Litespeed, Kona, Haro Mary and there’s more

Very true. What I meant by around, is that I have ridden and that are easily available in the UK.

Apart from the Fisher and the Salsa none of the brands above are widely, if at all, available in the UK.

I thought that’s what you meant – just wanted to tip the balance the other way for the 29r movement 😉
