From the same director as Blue Valentine, which was an absolute gem of a movie, and pretty much one of the best anti-date movies ever made – the more so for being entirely believable.

By comparison, The Place… felt sprawling and uneven. A good cast and another signature performance by Gosling, but at one point it seemed to turn into Stallone’s Cop Land…. Nice cheeky trails moto-cross sequence, though. 😀
