It looked disappointing at first with all the man made berms but it also has a good share of natural features by the looks of things 🙂

Looks very fast, that top section must be fairly steep!

    90kph sounds fairly fast!!

Mind you I’d be doing that with all the wildlife around

Looks great. I hope they put some pads on those trees looking at the speeds sick mick was hitting.

    Quote of the day:

“It’s named ‘vines’ because there’s bloody vines everywhere”.

    You gotta love Aussies.

Looks great, but that will be a nightmare to cover for TV with the jungle being so thick.

Looks pretty fast once it’s past that first section. Be nice to ride that and then be ten min from the beach

When did you do Canberra? Not been up since the mods for the World Champs but will be taking a look in March, might be the depths of winter before I get a go at Cairns though.

When do they race? that will be stupidly hot and humid for at least 7 months of the year.

Not a course I’d want yo do for ‘fun’ but for a WC course, it looks beaut. Plenty o room at the for ‘barbi’ too.

That looks fab, classic “camera flattens everything”, it must be steep as hell from the way he gained speed. And not a lot of margin for error either

Wonder how many finish if there is torrential rain.

Kinbers – the vid smoothed out a lot of the top section, some of the smaller riders could have got lost in the rocks up top and the it makes the jumps look like they are nothing – quite a few are proper trouser filling do or pain ones.

Cairns does have the bonus of more elevation and the hill not running out near the end though, will have to reserve judgement till I get up there though.

Annoying thing is Hobart was in the running to host but the local government wouldn’t step up for it, the track here is actually accessible to spectators where as there is no way I would be setting foot in that jungle.

Great to have something so different on the cards this year. That track looks proper hard too, will be great to see. I just hope they can work out some good options to cover it.

1996 world champs, I remember Palmer and Nico taking that corkscrew section with totally different styles.

It’s a real shame the camera flattens everything.
Some of the bits where he was effortlessly gaining speed looked uphill!

Presumably, they’ll clear some areas for spectators and cameras.
