Another Golfie blast this morning with a forum member who’s been up for a couple of days pre EWS. Different bike same place. by StuartBrettle, on Flickr

Glorious morning over The Golfie.
Then went for lunch and Wyn Masters came and sat at our table.
Really nice guy. Doing some pretty big training rides pre EWS. 2000 meters on his race bike then another 800 on his Ebike yesterday.😮
Been showing some old mates from back in the Midlands round for a few days.
Yair on Monday.

Back in the Italy office this week, and more after work rides on my new forks, it’s no harder to pedal up, but coming back down is in a different league.
Different and smaller mountain today after work, less interesting downhill but nice views, followed by Beer & Ice Cream then the final 5 miles back to the hotel, quick shower then more beer and a protein recharge.
Late morning Golfie ride with Mrsstu today.
Seems she’s getting on well with her new bike. RSC Golfie by StuartBrettle, on Flickr

Evening loop up and over Wardlaw Hill to test the fix (speed sensor) on the GF’s bike. This is just what I got the eeb for – exploring onto the tops on the feintest of quad track that would have involved well over an hour hike over heather and boggy ground.
This thread is great! Theres some cracking images! Isn’t this time of year bloody brilliant? 😀
I woke up early this morning and it was gloriously sunny so I took the hardtail for a quick ten mile loop down the valley. It was perfect! Lovely views out over a hazy Manchester from Holcombe Hill
First full day in Torbole on Lake Garda. Tried to book a guide but no one seems to be doing it so decided on an early morning shuttle up to the top to do 601 trail from top to bottom which we were told is probably the most technical trail in the area.
Shuttle dropped us off and we had a 400m vertical climb for 2 miles. At the top we had a 2000m drop over 9 miles which was as technical as anything I’ve done before. The rocks, boulders and drops never let up. Had to walk in a couple of places. The last mile we did in a thunderstorm.
Finished shattered but elated. Probably bit of more than I could chew.
Last couple of days have seen us out above above Torbole. Temps are still in mid thirties with very little cloud
We took it easy yesterday with a 850 ascent 10 mile climb up some old tracks. Spent some time relaxing and swimming in a lake and then had a blast back down some easy singletrack
Today we had a shuttle up into the hills. First trail was called Hammer
978m descent over 4.5 miles followed by a 1300m ascent back up a road for 9 miles to get to the start of the second trail called Anaconda with a 1150 drop over 5 miles.
Both trails were first class with a mixture of everything. Steep, rocky and rooty. The climb between was hard in the heat
It was. I was glad when we popped out at the end.
We were recommended Velolake for the shuttles and trail knowledge by Gordon at the uplift in Inners
He was spot on with the recomendation.
The guys know the trails well and have some of them on Komoot.
If we were to go back we would use them again.
Travelled to Aosta today. Weather permitting it will be Pila in the morning
Melting hot today – not helped by a lie in.
Seems Picos’ routes go directly up and fall line down – and ignore schweeeeeet single-track that miners and farmers have created over the years.
Anyhow, worth the sweat for the view.
Mrsstus day off today so headed out for 1700 meters of Golfie fun.
Some trails were a slippy or grippy lottery from one corner to the next. Just couldn’t tell until you were on it. Wolf End by StuartBrettle, on Flickr
We finished off in Pila yesterday and are now in Samoens for some lift assisted riding. Tried to book a shuttle to get to some stuff up the other side but can’t get anyone interested for 2 people. Trail map looks good but it’s easy to get carried Way and end up way down the valley.
