Looking for a bit of advice regarding food before and event.

I’m raising money for MacMillan Cancer suppor this coming weekend by completing a 100K cycle ride. I’ve flashed the sponsorship form around the office, so thats taken care of, unless you want to go to the MacMillan site and donate.

    http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Home.aspx

What I was wondering, is what to eat the night before the ride. I can’t cycle on food in the morning and I usually skip breakfast anyway. So I’d like suggestions for what to eat for dinner the night before. Also, while I’m here, what food might I consider taking with me on the ride ?.

Current favourite is steak and chips for dinner, Saturday evening.
Possibly pitted dates for during the ride ?.

    Cheers.

pasta night before – followed by big chocolate desert of some kind . . .

porridge or pancakes in the morning…

during the ride, maybe some jam sandwiches, a cashew nut/raisin mix, energy bar/gels, sweeties

Whole wheat pasta – slower release of energy. Be careful with dates they can cause a need to evacuate…

He seems quite OK with it, doesn’t like being crucified on a full stomach apparently…

I wasn’t planning on it and there certainly wasn’t any mention of crucification in the MacMillan literiture.

What tyres, gloves and shoes for Crucifiction ?

Oh and a 100k isn’t too bad. You will survive! Do try and have a light breakfast though – it will help!

Certainly no need for SPD shoes with Crucifiction

I’d have thought them to be invaluable, you know, for when you are eventually removed from the cross. Afterall, think of the next user.
