Although the bike’s a Crack-n-fail Cannondale, I think it’s only fair to place the blame on the metal bar that pinged off the spokes and into the fork with great force… Some blame should go to the nerk on the bike carrying said bar in a stupid fashion 😳

    As it’s a “cheap” fork (bike’s a 6yo Cannondale CAAD8) I suspect the cost of repair+postage+etc wouldn’t be worthwhile compared to getting a replacement.

I’ve got some blue ones you can have cheap, but I think they might clash with the colour scheme!

My metallic blue Gary Fisher HooKooEeKoo frame broke, they sent me a red replacement under warranty 🙂

Santa brought me some black Rebas a few months later…

I’ve got to hear how this one happened… Had nipped out to Halfords to buy a camp bed (they had it on offer, so saving a fiver). I rode back with it over my shoulder. As I went round a corner it slipped down my arm, pinged off the spokes and smashed into the fork leg.

So saving a fiver has cost me several spokes and a pair of forks… I love a bargain 😥

It also damaged the bag the bed was in and one of the poles… Ho-hum…

That reminds me the time I got a free spare RSJ from the site I was working on which was perfect for our project at home, pushed it into the van and straight into the screen busting it, £80 for a new screen. bargain!

I’m sure they could, they fixed the back of my ASR5 after a fight with a rock a few years ago.

    As you said though

Dunno how I’d feel on repaired forks mind.

After I took the wheel off I discovered quite how bad the crack was!

SJS Cycles do a range of carbon forks from about £60.

When my back was broken by a driver, all that happened to my bike was a small scratch on the side of the carbon forks. That must have been some force.

Ta for the recommendation, they look perfect, unfortunately I bought some for a ton from Triton cycles.
Pretty pleased with them, but they’re not 40 quid better!
