Looking for a longer and slacker head angled hardtail to replace the mk3 cotic soul I have. I’ve been offered a 2018 nukeproof scout race 275 at what seems a very good price, but also loking at the new 2020 laufy as that looks really good. it would be the base model. Anyone comment on either bike for mixed riding, road, bridleway forest road, trailcentre and lake disctrict riding. im wondering if 29er wheels would be better but at nearly double the price i’m not sure?

    thanks in advance

The Nukeproof scout is a decent all rounder – although it’s probably on the slacker / more aggro end of hardtails. I think the rear of it is meant to be quite stiff – can it run plus ish tyres?

I know someone who had the 29er version and it looked great and he had a lot of fun on it, but I’ve never had a go on one myself.
