I’m planning a 200km road ride on saturday evening and Tebay is pretty much at the halfway point, so ideal for a cuppa and a bite to eat.
The truck stop will be more convenient to get to, but will I get odd looks turning up not only without a truck (in a “From Dusk till Dawn” style), but on a road bike and wearing lycra?
Or would it be more sensible to ride a few more miles around to Westmorland services? Where I’d actually expect more odd looks from car occupants as I ride around a service station.
Truck stop cafe isn’t actually open on a saturday evening, whereas the Westmorland one is, until 9pm. That could be the deciding factor…
