At that price point I’d be spending £60 of Tesco vouchers and getting a Hudl.

    When my pop’s 80, he’s getting tablet.

    The butter and sugar kind.

He’s 60 and phones when “the internet breaks”.

Scan Computers or Dab are both selling 16gb Nexus 7s (gen 1) for £95. They’re open box/refurbed but come with 12mth warranties.

The Kobo reviews pretty well here.

The 2 things that I would consider with the Kobo and the 1st Gen Nexus for an older person – will the screen be big enough to be easily readable ? Will the speakers be loud enough – in both cases they are on the back of the unit and apparently tend towards being a bit quiet.

Cranberry’s hit it on the head with “big and LOUD” – also a case that makes it easy to hold/balance.

    ?Touch screen Chrome book ?

I wouldn’t entertain the thought of buying ANYTHING from Currys on the basis of their well documented and non-existant customer service when things go wrong

I second Properbikeco. Distress purchases only for me.

Kobo is way better specked out of the two and £30 cheaper as dont really need anything from JL !

Friend has the tesco thing and hates it

That’s interesting, I understood it was well regarded. What’s up with it?

He had the nexus before but his son broke it so he replaced it with the tesco one and said they don’t compare tesco one cheaply made etc slow

And I want to spend under £100

I guess I’m asking out of the two I have picked which is the better ?
