I thought I’d knock out some T-shirts to raise some cash for Cyclists’ Defence Fund, who exist to provide a sound legal defence against such things as spurious prosecutions or loss of access rights, and in some cases even to bring private prosecutions where the CPS does not act. I used TBoom for some Le Jour de France t-shirts earlier in the year and the quality was pretty decent so I’m using them again.
The shirts are £12 each with a fat £5 going to CDF for each one sold. (I get nothing, by the way.) You can also add a donation on top of that if you like*.
So far they’ve been selling better than expected, so I’m wondering if we can raise a grand by the end of the month (after which the shirts will no longer be for sale… get ’em while you can). They’re available in universal, women’s and children’s fits. One colour, one design (love it or hate it). A stocking filler for the cyclist who has everything, perhaps?
Obviously feel free to pimp it on Facebook etc as well 😉
* note that additional donations are subject to a 5% fee
Don’t like that design? Fair enough. Try the Road.cc ones, with a retro-reflective print of the “cyclists: stay awesome” sticker on the rear. £25 each with a quid to CDF for each one sold.
For those who are interested, I’m keeping track of the fundraising in relation to the levels of fines awarded for killing and injuring people on bikes:
At the point of writing, people buying T-shirts have raised £131 more than the fines for killing three cyclists and putting a fourth on life support, but £181 less than the fine for killing a swan.
I wore mine to the pub the other night when the bloke on the next table (who definitely hadn’t seen my tshirt) loudly proclaimed that he’d never seen a cyclist stop at a traffic light. He was in his late 50s.
I got up to go to the bar and his mates sat facing me creased up laughing 😀
Never underestimate the fundraising power of crowdsourced cygnicide 😉
How do they size up?
They’re Fruit of The Loom, if that’s any use. I *think* I’m about a 39″ chest and M is snug on me, L is loose without being too big. (I prefer the latter.) They’re on the long side.
Sat in mine at work typing this whilst at work on a forum at work…………I say work, last day for a month and a bit then new job who won’t let me wear said t-shirt or go on forums…….what was I thinking!:D
It has a couple of comments already 8)
