Anyone on here got Syntace rear hub? I’m considering the W35 wheels but not a fan of loud hubs – any direct experience/comparison with Hope etc appreciated.

Just got them. Hum is very, very, very loud. Imagine Chris King x 2.

However build quality is astonishing and durability is legendary (10 years warranty).

Does the UK importer bring these in, and if so, how much?

Very loud, way louder than a Pro II.

I did a quick, not particularly scientific (I used an decibelmeter app) when we first got a Syntace wheel in the shop. Results with phone at 0.4m, Pro II Evo freehub = 79.3dB, Syntace W30 freehub = 90.6dB. Pretty big difference

Really loud indeed, up until the point that the microscopic springs start to disintegrate

Are they more expensive than, say Tune?

Am going to guess they around the £150 mark??!!

But am guessing they will be quality as i rate all the Syntace products i have had on my bikes…

But have to admit if they are super noisy then perhaps i wouldn’t bother

That’s Pro 2 money, so not desperate then?

To be honest that was a complete guess and what do you mean by desperate?! How much do you think they go for?!

I’ve no idea, and the distributor’s website doesn’t help, hence why I was asking.

I’m reasonably happy to spend £150ish on a hub, on the basis that it’ll last for years; would be less keen to spend £300+ on a CK rear.

well the rear hub is 395 euro according to their website

Lots of loud hubs can be made quieter by using oil rather than grease in the pawls/ratchet.

    Hope it is, then.
