I bought a 216j recently and 2x3tb drives to go in it. Hooked it all up turned it on and tried to get started. Initially it reports a disk as crashed, got a replacement, switched it out and now it’s telling me the other disk has crashed.

I’ve not even got as far as completing creating a volume yet. Anyone else suffered this? Am I doing something obvious wrong?

My WD Reds lasted exactly 1 year in a Synology. Switched to a Qnap and disks are lasting much better.
3TBs every time, must be costing you!
Get on to Synology support? They’re pretty good at answering calls.

Well at the moment I have 2 replacement disks from Amazon after problems with 1 of the initial ones, however, now one of the others is reporting a problem I may end up trying that, but I am starting to suspect there is more to it as I haven’t even completed setup of the synology yet but apparently have 2 dead disks.
