- Surely I can't have worn out my Turbo already….?
A minoura b60-r, where the tyre is seems to have worn off the top coat of the roller leaving a shiny ” chrome” ring around the roller. It has approx 300k on it – is this normal?
Posted 4 years agoMine has a different finish around the strip where the tyre runs, doesn’t seem to change anything though, carry on.
Posted 4 years agoYou’ve done 300,000 miles on a turbo? 😐
Posted 4 years agoNo. 300 Kilometres

Posted 4 years agoBe interesting to see some pictures of there wear if possible? IMO there is no way you should have been able to wear the roller out with that small amount of mileage…
Posted 4 years agoSounds like the roller has just become polished, rather than wear per se.
Pics of it would be useful but it sounds normal polishing to me.
Posted 4 years agoSounds like you’re using a standard road tyre on it, wasn’t a problem on mine a few years back.
Posted 4 years agoIs it possible that you have too little pressure on the roller and the tyre is spinning on it rather than always turning it?
Posted 4 years agoTedc – I am using a road tyre. You’ve experienced the same issue?
Scotroutes – I wouldn’t have thought so as there’s no slipping during sprint intervals.
Pic here:
Posted 4 years agoPolished, not worn.
Posted 4 years agoPhew…
Posted 4 years agoYouve just worn through the top coating of the finish on the roller, perhaps readhjust the pressure on the wheel to a bit less and make sure tyres are pumped up well.
