  • Superstar Trizoid XC hub – any experiences?

I’ve been looking at off the peg XC wheelsets, namely the Hope Hoops Pro3/Crests http://tinyurl.com/3bplyyl
I can get the above Superstar hub on crests & CX-rays for almost 100€ less http://tinyurl.com/3kutdf5.

I’ve always had good experiences with Hope hubs (and Superstar too, although I’ve never seen their hubs), but am tempted by the lower price of the Superstar build. Anyone know ‘owt about these hubs? Are bearings, etc easy enough to get hold of?

a little bumpito for the late night crew?
Would like to get them on order Monday, hopefully get them in time for a couple of upcoming races…

Good price from them for my stans/switch hubs, no problems with the quality of the parts, but the build was crap. So maybe budget for the being sorted by your LBS. Although this was about 5 months ago, they might have sorted it by now!

?They might be roughly the same as my Superstar Superleggera Titanium, CX-Ray, Stans Alpine. good wheels IMO, especially at that price. If the hub/pawl setup is the same, then expect a nice ‘buzz’ from the hub.

I’d expect to have to tweak them after a couple of rides anyway, being machine built, so not too worried about that.
Little bit worried about the tiny teeth in the freehub…

my wheels have been built well, not had to get them looked at yet. 6 months regular use in the Yorkshire Dales.
