Ive had the neighbours nippers bike in the shed as a roll pin in the air spring had snapped and they had overextended as a result. Easy fix and caused by poor tolerance as far as I can tell.

However, the damper appears to do nothing. From what I can tell it’s a sealed unit and designed just to be lightly greased.

Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done with the damper to ressurect it?

    Cheers

    Tim

    I feared as much.

Although, they aren’t overtly fast rebound, and I doubt they had much in the way of sensible compression damping in the first place.

Is it a 26er fork? I have an old Epicon fork that are destined for the tip. The forks do work, the hole where the axle fits has elongated.
I tried to get the thing bored out and sleeved but it moved in the machine. You are welcome to it if it does the job.

27.5, but the damper may be the same.

Thanks for the offer but I wouldn’t worry as the kid doesn’t seem to care

I have an 26″ Epicon(IIRC) with damping that isn’t working properly. It failed so I stripped the fork and pulled the damper apart, it seemed to be an open bath but sealed cartridge. I wonder whether it would be like the one linked above. I couldn’t find anything about service online but I don’t want to get rid of them as they’re a really nicely made fork with virtually everything made of cnc’d aluminium
