iDaves "44 and just popped my cherry" thread has inspired me to daydream a little about stuff i've never done but seemingly everyone else in the world has:

for me the most recent things that come to mind are:

i've never even touched a harry potter book
i've never driven a "fast" car
i've never been south of the equator
i've never watched the star wars films all the way through without loosing interest

i'm sure the list will grow as people suggest different things… but the questions now out there: what haven't you done?

Never had a one to one punch up. Wierd eh? Been in a few mass scuffles but i've never stood there and had it out with somebody toe to toe.

I did once hit somebody over the head with a bag of spuds when I was 10 but it was hardly a fight because he just ran off crying.

Never failed to promote a bike event in the New Forest

Never been to a music festival
Never been to a concert for a major band
Never seen live comedy

Pretty sheltered really

Never defecated on a glass coffee table for someone else sexual gratification.

Never been to Africa, Australasia, South America or Antarctica.
Never seen the midnight sun (although close) or the midday darkness
Never ridden a stage race
Never ridden a road race for that matter
Never cleared (or attempted) a double
Never done an uplift day
Never been in a proper jungle
Never been to a music festival
Never stripped and rebuilt an engine
Never ragged a proper fast car
Never climbed a mountain higher than 4,000m
Never run a marathon
Never sailed the atlantic

Those are things I would like to do but haven't yet 🙂 Plenty more on the list.

I suppose that makes me sound a bit of a wuss really.
Being in paramilitaries errr, cadets as a teenager and a nurse in adulthood puts a few peculiar or interesting 'haves' in the list though i suppose.

Stuff I've never done but would like to:

I've never entered a bicycle race.
I've never been 'on tour' with a band I actually play in.
I've never been 'cycle touring' or whatever you want to call it.
I've never been to the Tour de France.

Strangely I've never seen the northern lights either although I've been to Iceland twice. Have seen the midnight sun/midday dark technically although it rains so much in Iceland it's just light or dark with cloud. 😉

This is turning up some great memories. As schoolkid, there was a rough pub that we could get served in. One night, a bunch of us were in looking like adults, and we heard some noises coming from the back room, a little sort of function room with a square of laminate flooring to dance on. We went to see, because it sounded a bit like a fight. In fact, it was the Thursday Night Punch In the Pus Contest (god knows if it happened any other night). The rules – very simple. Two men face up to each other on the "dancefloor" and someone tosses coin. Winner goes first, and strikes (a Punch) the other in the facial area (The Pus). Assuming the Punchee doesn't fall down, the Punchee becomes the Puncher, and gets to punch back. And so on, till one of them does fall down. Winner is last man standing.

I have however seen one of my schoolmates get punched in the pus so hard he took off
