I’ve got a gas canister burner and have tested a patch, comes off nice and easily.
Before I kill myself with inhaling fumes as I’ve no idea how old the paint is underneath ( lead paint !?!?)
Is it safe ? well ventilated as it’s outside, do I need a mask ??
Once door is stripped
Sand the door
Undercoat
Paint colour of choice
Afair, lead paint won’t fume until over 600f? ish. So a hot air gun on a low setting outside would probably be okay. You should probably get a cartridge filter mask with a an organic vapour cartridge if you want to use heat, even if you are outside.
Better still use an environmentally friendly stripper with a N100 particukate mask.
