Looking for some ideas to cast the net further…

I’m not getting on with my genesis day one SS – it’s too big so looking for a steel framed bike in M or M/L that I can run SS initially with the option to switch to geared in the future.

I already have some trp hydro brakes and some stans alpha on hope hubs (rear is 135mm qr but it could be changed) along with all the finishing kit for SS.

A surly straggler is top of the list with a cotic escapade in second – what other bikes fall into this category??

the surlys are expensive now in my view, but undoubtedly good. don’t dismiss something like a pinnacle arkose. i have an old spesh langster, a surly crosscheck, and a pinnacle ( yeah, i know… ). i like all of them for different reasons, but the langster and pinnacle are both as comfy as the surly. i also had a pompino but could never get comfortable on that.

I’ve actually got a pinnacle arkose which is great and I use for long days of adventuring. However, I fancied something steel to replace the genesis which is my commuter/knock about bike.

The kite is nice does that have an EBB like the peregrine – I’d really like the peregrine but they do not come up often, think the soma wolverine can run SS too but again – they are not often for sale.

My best bet is likely to be a cotic escapade I guess. I’m in no hurry just want to broaden the search.

The Kite is a very nice bike but it does not have a EBB

If you see one I have an old Singular Peregrine, has EBB and disc brakes, easy bike to ride, very comfy, only issue is slight toe overlap. Don’t often see them come up though

    Hi,

If you are just broadening your scope there might be few additional…

All City Nature Boy https://allcitycycles.com/bikes/nature_boy (or 853 version…)

    Light Blue Darwin https://www.thelightblue.co.uk/Sport/FMLBDD1K/Darwin-Frame-Set-

Kona Sutra LTD – it is rocker dropouts ready, but probably only last year model. New one is through axle rear end.

Octan One Kode http://octane-one.com/kode/ (it is NS’s sub brand, cheaper option than Rondo and NS temselves)

    Probably few more kicking around…

    Cheers!

    I.
