  • Steel or Titanium Custom Frames?

I’m toying with the idea of buying myself a custom road frame, either steel or possibly Titanium if the price is right.
    It’s going to be a fixed/singlespeed frame.

    Who’s good with these things?
I’ve done a bit of googling but there seems to be a huge amount of choice out there and I’ve no idea who’s good or bad.
Ideally I’d like a Field Cycles steel frame but without even asking, I know that they’ll be out of my price range.

So, who else is worth speaking to?

Rourke or Mercian for steel. Had my legs ripped off up hills by a guy on a Mercian singlesided a couple of weeks ago on an audax. It was a very pretty bike from the back. And he had HUGE calves!

Bespoked could’ve been interesting but sadly I’m away that weekend.
The Travers frames definitely need investigating further!

I’m currently waiting on a direct from China Ti frame, built by Waltly.

They were great to deal with, hopefully the frame itself will be as good!
Worked out cheaper than custom UK steel.
