Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Official Trailer
Every generation has a legend. The Rise of Skywalker – Official Teaser Trailer
Posted by Star Wars on Friday, April 12, 2019
I think that should auto-embed?
Posted 3 years agoPosted 3 years agoI’m still struggling to get over how iffy the last one was (not quite a horse-race or Luke enjoying green alien milk anyone?) but I’m sure the cinema will get my £5 when it comes out!
Posted 3 years agoso we have to wait until Christmas??? That isn’t fair!!!
Posted 3 years agoFirst thing I’m putting on when I’m back from the pub.
Posted 3 years agoIs that a bit of the Death Star at the end?
Looks very Star Wars-ey. Hopefully it’ll be better than the last one, which on rewatching last week I’ll finally admit was a bit pants.
Posted 3 years agoThe last one was so bad that I’m struggling to get excited after watching that. Rolling out old Lando seems a bit desperate too. Plus a highly marketable new little bot in time for Christmas. <sighs>
Posted 3 years agoSomeone needs to make a really blood thirsty dark grity Star Wars horror film set in space – Jedi Vs Alien or something. Disney is on a highway to nothing by keeping on making Star wars for kids, as they are all busy playing Fortnite – it’s only those aged 30+ who actually care.
Posted 3 years agoI think the spin-offs are better.
Posted 3 years agoThe last Mary poppinsesque drivel was enough for me.
Posted 3 years agoThe last one was great, as long as you delete about 25% of it from your brain
Posted 3 years agoYeah go in looking for fun, the good guys winning and some moments along the way, yep the directors cut skips the trip to the casino but that is true for most nights out.
Posted 3 years ago
Middle part of a trilogy is always annoying as it has to go somewhere but never get there.Only 25%? That only covers the rubbish casino section. How are we going to erase the entire opening sequence with bombs that fall directly downwards in the vacuum of space, slicing spaceships in half with hyperspeed jumps (should’ve just used that on the Death Star), and most of the grumpy Luke Skywalker stuff?
Yeah go in looking for fun, the good guys winning
Considering the resistance is more or less entirely wiped out at the end, not sure it meets your criteria!
Posted 3 years agoThat was part 2, the way down to rock bottom before the spark that …….
Part 3 means we get to see it coming together and our plucky band of heroes doing something. Also if you are thinking about the physics something has gone wrong, took it in the same was as Captain Marvel which I saw last night, lean back in the comfy chair, leave the brain at the door and let it play on your emotions.
Posted 3 years agoThey should do a star wars – star trek crossover movie 🙂
They could call it war trek. Or star star.
Posted 3 years agoLando and the Emperor, I’m down with that.
Posted 3 years agoslicing spaceships in half with hyperspeed jumps (should’ve just used that on the Death Star)
I don’t get the bitching about this.
Posted 3 years ago
Bleeding obvious when you see it done, but had you thought of it before?I don’t get the bitching about this.
Ever watched a film with fighter jets in with people who worked for BAE…. it’s like auf wiedersehen pet and talking about the pointing….

I think the spin-offs are betterYou missed Solo I assume?
Posted 3 years agoI think the spin-offs are better.
Erm, Solo?!?
I will be disengaging my brain and enjoying this one as much as the last one.
Posted 3 years agoMiddle part of a trilogy is always annoying as it has to go somewhere but never get there
BLASPHEMER! Empire was the best!
Posted 3 years agoI liked Solo.
Posted 3 years ago
Rogue One was the best though.I think the spin-offs are better.
Damn straight!
Posted 3 years agoI realise I’m in a small minority but I thought Solo was a good film and I liked Ladt Jedi much more than Force Awakens..Rogue one best of the new bunch though.
Having said all that Star Wars Rebels is the best output since Jedi.
Posted 3 years agoIts Star Wars and thats good enough for me…not a ‘super’ fan but enough of a fan to enjoy the movies without fretting about plots, canon, ‘comedy’ sidekicks, acting ability etc etc
Posted 3 years agoI’d be much happier if this was an option on Disney wipeboard..

As is, yeah I’ll watch it… but I’ll suspend fawning over it until I’ve been kicked in the back of the seat by some yobbo scoffing maltesers and burping coke, while his Julie texts her besties.

With any film that has a steam train* my Dad will disappointedly point out that it would never have run in that location/time period.
And then go into great detail about where/when it would have.
*sorry, engine 🙄
Posted 3 years agoRandom aside but I just watched the Force Awakens trailer again and holy shit, what a brilliant trailer.
Posted 3 years agoIt’s certainly getting a lot of media, R1 yoof were chatting about it and seems to be a theme running now about who is “the” Skywalker..
Is it the long dead Luke, the pouting Ren, or that little lad at the end of the last one who commanded his broom from the steps..?
(at that point of the film, I half expected a full sci-fi rendition of Fantasia)
Posted 3 years agoWell once again it’s got me excited.
Posted 3 years agoLooks like the ESB template.
Semi-ignoring Last Jedi.
Posted 3 years agoI thought Solo was a great old adventurous romp. Much preferred it and Rogue One to either of the main films. The Last Jedi just seemed disjointed to me. It was like a few decent set pieces had been filmed and they had to build a plot around them.
Posted 3 years agoThe last few I’ve watched I couldn’t help think that it was very much “suicide squad advance”
I wouldn’t have been surprised if it turned out princess leia was actually the sith lord sneakily sending everyone out to die until there are only a handful of rebel scum left.
I know it’s star wars and I know they have always had their arse kicked but at least have some strategic battle plans rather than attack attach attack.
They’ve left me disappointed but I’ve still watched them numerous times and enjoyed them. Possibly as I was brainwashed as a child growing up on star wars.
On the bright side there isn’t a jar jar binks in the latest films.
Id like to see a film following the siths and empire and watching them kill and destroy but I doubt that would fit in with disney
Posted 3 years agowith bombs that fall directly downwards in the vacuum of space
Did that really agitate you? Jeez
Posted 3 years agoI thought Solo was a great old adventurous romp.
It tried to be but failed, it’s watchable but only just.
Did that really agitate you? Jeez
Yup odd isn’t it? They accept space travel across numerous planets, 100s of species that all breath oxygen, humans existing in another galaxy far far away, magical super powers but not bombs.
Posted 3 years agoThere was a wee pusher inside the bombers sending the bombs down the way. They just didn’t show it. Hope that helps.
My problem with Solo was the guy who was supposed to play Harrison Ford doesn’t appear to have ever seen a Harrison Ford movie
Posted 3 years agoEver watched a film with fighter jets in with people who worked for BAE…. it’s like auf wiedersehen pet and talking about the pointing….
Yeah, I found it hard to take this one seriously.

Except he’s playing Han Solo not Harrsion Ford.
