09:30 start in the Norwood Edge car park off B6451, Pateley Bridge road (here: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=420995&y=450900&z=120&sv=420995,450900&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=852&ax=420995&ay=450900&lm=0).
Plan is to carry out repairs and alterations to the top section of the Descent Line where poor line and heavy use has blown out some corners. It’ll be more exciting and detailed than that but you get the picture.
There’s 15 tonnes of limestone aggregate tipped at the very top of the Descent Line waiting for hardy souls to barrow it in. Great news is that the push is all downhill. Yee haw!
Please come along and experience just how easy and accesible trail building is. Friendly crowd, folks in red “Trail Crew” T shirts to ask for advie and help run the day. Bring you own food and a brew. Should be sheltered in the trees as well. Come for an hour or all day. Bring a bike and bug out to ride before, after or during. Tools provided but a rake and/or shovel and/or barrow would all be handy things if you can bring them. Sturdy boots and gloves a good idea.
Also worth mentioning that sections of the Deescent Line, particularly at the top in the trees, are very likely to be closed for the protection of volunteer trail builders and riders alike. If you’re planning to ride this weekend (and possibly after we’ve done the dig as the trail will need to bed in) then respect any closures / diversions etc.
